Dem Hoodstarz are part of the Bay Area’s Hyphy culture and make Hip-Hop music in all genres of Hip-Hop including, Hyphy, West Coast Rap, East Coast Hip-Hop and the Dirty South form. The Hoodstarz consist of Band-Aide and Scoot Dogg. The group is a prime example of the Bay Area’s Hyphy movement. They gained recognition throughout the Bay Area with their hit single, "Grown Man On", produced by San Jose’s Traxamillion. One of their first singles, "Can't Leave Rap Alone" (2004), featuring Oakland, CA, veteran Keak da Sneak, started to put things in motion for the duo, paving their way to become local favorites.Their first album is called "Hood Reality". They both started in two different groups. Band-Aide started with a group known as Neva Legal consisting of partners, G-Boyee and Mr. Macntosh. Scoot Dogg was in a group started by former rapper Chunk known as Totally Insane. Its favorable reception, in addition to the hyphy phenomenon spreading nationwide and translating onto the Billboard charts, garnered them a distribution deal with Warner, who issued their second album, Band-Aide and Scoot, later that same year. Winners of the Rookie of the Year title at the first Bay Area Rap Scene Awards, the duo kept delivering to Bay Area radio non-stop hits (as were their remixes) over the following couple of years, including "Grown Man On," "Waken Them Up," and "That's What's Up." Successful and signature hyphy producers Traxamillion and Droop-E were consistent collaborators for many of those songs. Both Scoot Dogg and Band-Aide are from the Bay Area. Scoot Dogg comes from Midtown East Palo Alto and Band-Aide comes from the Eastern part of Menlo Park. Together the two have started their record label Lawless Records and released the album Band-Aide & Scoot. Lawless Records also consists of rappers The Block Boys, Hood Felons, G-Boyee and Young Bunk. Be on the lookout for "Black Friday" the second album from Dem Hoodstarz which is sure to be a hit throughout the world of Hip-Hop.
