Is there such a thing as a good
Bay Area Hip-Hop manager? Seriously. I mean, when is the last time you heard of a Bay Area Hip-Hop artist making it big except for E-40,
Keak da Sneak maybe, but he still doesn't get the attention he deserves.
There is so much talent in the Bay Area. We have lyrical geniuses, the best beat makers, women that are second to none and fans that support local hip-hop artists. Is there such a thing as a good Bay Area Hip-Hop manager? I honestly don't know, but I hope so. Ballers, ask yourself this, what major label actually owns your so called Independent Label?
As the title says, "
Bay Area Managers Are Amateurs." Please, show me one that's not. Please prove me wrong. I love Bay Area Hip-Hop, I'm just sick and tired of our artists not blowing up.
Example 1: Mistah FAB
To be honest, I don't know
Mistah Fab's manager and never worked with him/her, but Mistah FAB is special. He's proven himself to the people of the Bay Area countless times on his mixtapes, albums and singles and has proven that he can crossover into all genres of Hip-Hop, but yet remains what I call, a regional artist.
Do you ever wonder why he remains a regional artist? If you don't know, I'll tell you. I searched for Mistah FAB on google and the third result was MistahFAB.com. Here's the screenshot of MistahFAB.com.

Mistah FAB's Current Website Is Not an Interactive Website
With that said, I then looked up who managed his domain name and/or website and I found out that
Straight Hits Entertainment actually owns his name. I thought to myself, if Mistah FAB doesn't have a site, surely his record label would have a site that generates traffic and revenue for its artists. I was wrong. Take a look at the screenshot below.

Mistah FAB's Label Does Not Have an Internet Presence
No internet presence = no traffic = no downloads = no money
Bay Area Artists are already supported by local fans, to make money they need to expand their fan base in other regions. (just curious, but isn't that one of the reasons for a website - to capture and acquire additional fans from all over the world)
So here we are.

Mistah FAB just released "Hyphy Ain't Dead" for only $5.99 on itunes. To be honest, its refreshing to hear Mistah FAB kill it on so many tracks. It reminds me of the days when Bay Area artists were being played around the world, but at the same time, it frustrates me. It frustrates me that no one around him is furthering his development as an artist and businessman.
If you disagree with what I said, please take a close look at the screenshots above or simply search for
Mistah FAB on itunes and/or Amazon. What do you get? On itunes you get three different spellings of his name, Mistah FAB, Mistah F.A.B and Mistah fab, all with different results.
Lastly, click on Mistah FAB's bio in itunes and read it. It's definitely outdated and doesn't exactly entice the customer to purchase his music. So what do Bay Area managers do? Your guess is as good as mine.
