Hyphy.com - Bay Area Hip-Hop

As Mistah FAB says, so I decided to say to the DJ, "This bump, bump, bump, bump, this bump, bump, bump, bump, this Slap Nigga Turn it Up." The song kept playing, "she like Mistah FAB, but she love Turf Talk"...I tried to remix my own verse in there, but quickly got escorted out the club. Not really though...

I actually didn't hear Mistah FAB's new song called Bump from his album "Hyphy Ain't Dead." It's ashame, I never hear any new Bay Area Hip-Hop music, only the anthems. You know, "I Got 5 On It" - (in case you don't know, "I got 5 on it" is a phrase meaning to pay half for a blunt or dime bag along with another person to buy a 10 dollar bag of marijuana. The lyrics in the original song clearly convey this meaning.

“Kinda broke so ya know all I gots five, I got five”
“Unless you pull out the fat, crispy five dollar bill on the real before its history”
“I got 5 on it, let's go half on a sack”

Sounds good to me. Wikipedia knows Bay Area Hip-hop better than any record label or manager.

Other Bay Area anthems I always hear at the club are "Tell Me When to Go", "Super Hyphy" and "Grown Man On" by Dem Hoodstarz.

Okay, I'm a grown ass man, but isn't there something new? Those songs still represent where I live, what I did or do, and what I'm about...but damn the songs came out awhile back. What about Bay Area Hip-Hop music here and now? Even the Texas boys are coming out with new music after they blew up on the national scene. Slim Thug and Mike Jones got new albums out. Who? Mike Jones. Remix that and Back Then it was 2005. 2005 was the last time the Texas boys had a hit.

Aren't DJ's supposed to break records where they from? Why do we (as in you, me, drinkers, smokers, blunt rollers, listeners, the one reader, dancers, club owners, producers, promoters and/or other artists) continuously hire DJ's that do not support local artists? Why do we support radio stations that don't play our music?

Who are the Bay Area DJ's, promoters, producers and labels that support Hyphy Music aka Bay Area Hip-Hop in general? It don't have to sound like Hyphy to be Hyphy, ya digg?

Lastly, (cause a lot of white people end paragraphs with lastly), can we do anything about it?

I think so.

Your right actually THA BAY doesnt push the bay. The D.Js such as the RICK LEE's, and Chuey Gomez's dont come into the hood and homes to see whats relevant. They pay most attention to artist they have business interest with. So if there no profit in breaking you, why bother? California doesnt have a support system, actually in most cases we are on life support. Artist dont come out and support other artist if they cant perform. Promoters make the same mistake of booking artists with BIGGER names but SMALLER followings. There is a solid buzz here in Oakland with the J-stalins, Shady nates Beeda Weedas Biajes Dot Goodies and etc. But sometimes I dont think most artists help there ticket value by not being responsible for there behavior business and personal. But as a family WE MUST BE MORE VISUAL and MORE SUPPORTIVE of our peer. If we dont push together, we WILL be PUSHED OVER!!!!
